We have over 50 world fishing records, and thousands of islands waiting to be discovered. Almost a thousand different species of Panamanian birds have been reported by the Audubon Society of Panama. With an area of 78,200 sq. km [about the size of South Carolina], Panama boasts more plant species than all of the U.S. and Canada combined. Naturalists have been attracted to Panama because of the combination of natural splendor and relative ease of access.
